When you arrive at Family Plus Medical Practice, you will be greeted by our reception staff who will welcome you into our reception area and assist you with filling out a New Patient Form if you haven’t already completed this prior to your arrival.

Completing this in advance will save you time on arrival but it is generally a simple form to fill out and allows the clinic to identify you and pre-assess your primary health concerns.

Our Principal Doctor, Dr Neha, will bulk bill children aged 11 years and under. Discounted fees apply Monday – Friday between 10am – 3pm for healthcare card holders and pensioners, including children aged 12 years to 17 years. If you are booking outside these hours, full private fees will apply.

There may be a treatment room fee for any procedures and an extra cost for using disposable equipment.

Some of our consulting Doctors may have alternate fees. Please enquire with our team.

Cancellations within 4 hours of your appointment may attract a $50 fee.

Our receptionists are happy to forward your paid account to Medicare online. Medicare will deposit your rebate into your nominated bank account within 24 hours.

Patients are required to settle their consultation fee at the time of their appointment. There may be additional charges if you cannot settle your fee on the day of the consult.

The initial workers compensation consult will be privately billed which you can claim back on approval of your claim.

Family Plus Medical understands that visiting the doctor can be an uncomfortable experience. To help navigate through the process, we have prepared the following responses to common questions that patients typically ask:

When making an appointment, please consider the consultation type and length you require with your chosen doctor to ensure there is sufficient time to discuss your concerns. If you have a number of concerns to discuss, you may need to consider a longer appointment time. For new patients, please book a 30-minute consultation for the initial visit.

The doctors at Family Plus Medical do their best to ensure that every patient is given sufficient time and consideration to discuss their health concerns, and this can often take additional time over the allocated appointment duration. Each doctor aims to make up this time over the course of the day but this may result in an ongoing delay that may be unrecoverable. We understand your time is important and our reception and nursing staff will ensure the time prior to seeing a doctor is kept to a minimum as far as practicable. 

If you feel you need an urgent appointment, please contact us via phone and we will try our best to fit you in. Please do not email for urgent matters.

If, however, you need emergency care please call 000 or access your nearest emergency department.

We understand that circumstances can change and cancellations can sometimes be necessary.

At Family Plus Medical, we ask that you provide 24-hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment as your time slot can be provided to another patient in need. If you are unable to provide a minimum 4 hours notice, then a cancellation fee will apply as your doctor has set aside this time exclusively for you and not showing for your appointment without sufficient notice restricts other patients from making appointments.

If you have cancelled an appointment and have any fees outstanding, you will be unable to make any further appointments. We may ask for a deposit for subsequent appointments to avoid recurrence.

Our cancellation fees are $50 if you have booked a short appointment and $100 if you have booked a long consultation. Cancellation fees on weekends and public holidays may be higher.

Family Plus Medical is a mixed-billing practice and we believe in providing transparent and easy-to-understand healthcare options. Children under 12 years of age will be bulk billed by Dr Goel Monday through to Friday. There is a discount for eligible health care card holders applicable Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm. Outside of these hours, full fees apply.

Please enquire within the clinic for a full fee schedule.

Our clinic may also charge additional fees for consumable items including dressings, local anaesthetics, private vaccines and any other services not funded by Medicare. This is typically discussed with your doctor.

After you have seen your doctor, you will be required to authorise payment on the day of your appointment, which can be facilitated by Eftpos, credit card or cash.

If you are an eligible concession card holder, you must provide evidence to our reception.

Your Medicare rebate can be processed at the time of payment back onto your debit card. This rebate is the amount of money paid to you by Medicare towards the cost of your chosen healthcare service. In most cases, your Medicare rebate will arrive overnight into your nominated bank account. It is important that your details are kept up to date with Medicare. 

After hours medical care:

  • If you need an out-of-hours home visit please call Hello Home Doctor Service on 134-100 

If you need emergency care, please call '000' or attend your nearest hospital Emergency Department.

You will need to see a doctor prior to seeing a specialist in order to claim benefits from Medicare. This is best done in person during a standard consult so we can fully address your needs and document your medical concerns in the referral. Please be aware that a referral letter is a legal document and cannot be backdated.

Most prescriptions do need a doctor consult. However, in some cases, repeat prescriptions may be requested to your usual GP via HotDoc for a small fee. Each request will be assessed by the doctor and they will approve and send a script via SMS or decline and request that you make an appointment.

Majority of test results are received by the clinic and checked by doctors within 2-3 days.

Rarely, results may fail to reach the clinic. If you have not received communication regarding your results within a reasonable time (usually a week), please contact our reception team.

It is important to book an appointment to obtain the results of medical investigations that your doctor has requested. Please note that your results will not be given to you by non-medical team members. In all cases, your doctor requests you to make a face-to-face appointment to discuss your results and next steps. In some exceptions, a telehealth consult may be appropriate if pre-arranged by your doctor.

The doctors at Family Plus Medical Practice will refer you to a medical practitioner who is best suited to your requirements or preferences. If you are unaware of specialists, our doctors are more than happy to recommend specialists within their medical network. All referrals require a consultation, whether in-person or via telehealth. We use Medical Objects at Family Plus Medical Practice to facilitate referrals, or we can use email if that is preferred. Please also note that a referral letter is a legal document and, as such, cannot be backdated.

In some cases, repeat prescriptions may be available without a consultation. Requests can be made to your regular clinical practitioner via our website, and there will be a small, private fee that is applicable. When you make this request, it will be assessed by your doctor, who will either approve (and send you an e-script) or decline the request and ask that you make an appointment to complete. If you require an urgent repeat prescription (within 5 business days), you are advised to contact our team to make an urgent telehealth appointment.
