MyMedicare registration at Family Plus Medical
MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration program from the Australian Government that helps formalise your relationship with your regular GP and general practice.
By registering, you nominate Family Plus Medical as your preferred practice and select your preferred GP.
Am I eligible to register?
You can register for MyMedicare if you have a Medicare card or DVA Veteran card and you’ve had face-to-face visits with the same practice in the last 24 months (typically two visits, or one for remote locations). Some people experiencing hardship are exempt from eligibility requirements.
Parents/guardians can register children, and young people aged 14 to 17 can provide consent themselves.

Register in person at the clinic
You can also register by completing a paper form at reception. By signing the form, you provide consent for our team to complete your registration in the MyMedicare system.
Does it cost anything?
No. MyMedicare registration is free and optional.
How will it benefit me?
MyMedicare is designed to support better continuity of care with your preferred GP and practice.
Registered patients can access extended Medicare-funded telehealth (phone) consultations through their nominated practice and GP when clinically appropriate.
You can still visit other practices, but MyMedicare-linked benefits apply through your registered practice.
Common questions
Do I have to register?
No, it’s voluntary.
Can I register with more than one clinic?
No, you can only be registered with one practice at a time. If you register with a new practice, your previous registration is automatically cancelled.
